Recyclable, or just called “recyclable”?

A two-layer badge is bonded together, so the honest question is what that bond does at the bin. The finish decides whether a badge is recycled or just called recyclable.

Biodegradable and compostable laminates are widely sold as the eco choice, but we don’t offer them. They only break down in industrial composting facilities, which most events and cities cannot access, so in an ordinary bin they behave like any other plastic. Durable paper needs no special stream.

To ensure graphic elements go from edge to edge, they need to extend 3 mm past the final badge size. The highlighted ring is that extra 3 mm.

This is the final badge size, where we trim. Every cut can drift about 1 mm, so designs need bleed outside this line and a safety margin inside it.

Keep names, logos, and text at least 5 mm inside the cut line. Anything closer to the edge can get clipped when the cut drifts.

What's the difference between durable and classic paper badges?

Durable badges are two layers of paper bonded to 500+ gsm and 0.7 mm, roughly twice the weight of classic. They resist tearing and hold up for 2-4 day events, where classic paper is made for a single day.

Two layers of paper, is that still recyclable?

Yes, fully. Both layers are paper with no plastic lamination between them, so the whole badge goes in any paper bin.

Is the glue between the layers recyclable?

Yes. The two layers are held together with a plant-starch adhesive that dissolves in the paper recycling process, so there's no synthetic film to separate and nothing left behind. That's the difference from a laminated badge, where a plastic layer is sealed over the paper.

Why not use a biodegradable or compostable laminate instead?

Because biodegradable and compostable laminates only break down in industrial composting facilities, which most events and cities cannot access. In an ordinary bin they behave like any other plastic. Durable paper needs no special stream, it goes in the same paper bin as an envelope.

How long do Durable Paper Badges last?

A 2-4 day event indoors. They're tear-resistant but not waterproof; for rain or outdoor events choose laminated or plastic badges.

Production takes 4 business days depending on quantity, plus 1-2 business days of DHL Express transit.
