Three materials, matched to the site
A muddy field and a cinema lobby ask different things of a badge. The personalisation is the same either way; the venue picks the material.
Laminated Badges
The outdoor default. Sealed in matte laminate on both sides, so rain and a weekend on a lanyard leave the print untouched.
From €1.05 / badge at volume · Production 3 days
Laminated event badges →
Plastic Badges
For artist, VIP and industry passes. Credit-card thickness, glossy on both sides, printed for the passes that tend to be kept afterwards.
From €1.35 / badge at volume · Production 4 days
Plastic event badges →
Durable Paper Badges
For film festivals and other indoor runs. Two bonded paper layers that last 2-4 days of screenings, then recycle in any paper bin.
From €1.45 / badge at volume · Production 4 days · From 100 units
Durable paper event badges →Badges for outdoor music festivals
Outdoor sites are decided by weather. Laminated Badges are sealed on both sides, so a crew list printed on them still reads on Sunday night, through rain and a weekend on a lanyard. Paper badges are not water-resistant, which is why the outdoor default is laminated.
Most music festivals print several designs in one order: crew for the build and the show, day staff in a different colour per day, vendors valid where they trade. Colour does the sorting at the gate, and a printed name stops a badge being lent.
Badges for film festivals
Film festivals run indoors, so the material question flips. A durable paper delegate badge lasts two to four days of screenings, prints partner logos in full colour, and recycles with the programmes when the festival ends. Juries and invited guests usually get plastic, which reads more formal and gets kept.
Accreditation lists close late. Badges are printed per name from one spreadsheet, so the order can wait for the final delegate list rather than the other way round.
One festival, many badges
Six roles, printed from one order and one spreadsheet:
Weekend crew
The longest-serving badge on site, worn from build day to load-out.
Day staff, colour per day
Friday is one colour, Saturday another. Gates clear at a glance.
Artist
Stage and backstage access, printed per name.
Vendor
Traders and food stalls get their own design, valid where they trade.
Press
High-visibility colours, so photo access is clear in a crowd.
Volunteer
Often the biggest list on site, printed per name from the same spreadsheet.
Laminated vs plastic vs paper for festivals
All three carry names, roles and your artwork. Site conditions pick the material.

Which badge fits your festival?
Outdoor music festival
Water-resistant on both sides, priced for the big crew and volunteer runs.
Laminated →Film festival, indoors for 2-4 days
Lasts 2-4 days of screenings, then recycles in any paper bin.
Durable paper →Artist and industry passes
Credit-card thickness for the short lists with the highest expectations.
Plastic →Badges for the crew, wristbands for the crowd
We print badges, not wristbands. Wristbands are ticketing: they move an audience through a gate once. Badges are credentials: they identify named people, at every gate, all weekend.
For crew, artists, vendors, volunteers and delegates, you are in the right place. For audience wristbands in the tens of thousands, you need a wristband printer, and it is better to know that before you request a quote.

Festival badge questions
If you can't find what you're looking for, get in touch.
Will festival badges survive rain?
Laminated and plastic badges are water-resistant: rain, spilled drinks and a weekend in the weather are what they're sealed for. Paper badges are not, and we won't pretend otherwise. Outdoors, choose a laminated badge.
Can each day of the festival have its own badge colour?
Yes. Day passes in different colours come from the same order and the same spreadsheet, so gate staff can clear Saturday's crowd at a glance without scanning anything.
What works best for a film festival?
Film festivals run indoors over several days, and Durable Paper Badges are built for 2-4 days of wear. Delegates appreciate the plastic-free detail. Print the screening schedule on the back and the badge becomes the programme.
Are there sustainable badge options for festivals?
For indoor and covered events, yes: classic and durable paper badges recycle in any paper bin. For open-air sites the honest answer is a laminated badge, which is water-resistant but not recyclable. Weather decides this one, not us.
How early should a festival order badges?
Order the main run two weeks out and don't wait for the stragglers. Crew and vendor lists always close late, so plan a second small order or a printed buffer of generic CREW badges for the names that arrive in the final week.
Do artists and crew keep their badges afterwards?
Almost always. A festival badge with your artwork, the year and their name on it is merch they earned. Plastic Badges age the best on a pinboard, which is worth knowing when you pick the material for artist passes.
